Floris Boogaard is a professor of climate adaptation at Hanze University of Applied Sciences and a senior researcher at Deltares. With over 25 years of experience in consultancy, research, and management, he focuses on optimizing the long-term efficiency of urban nature-based solutions and advancing climate resilience in cities.

Floris is the founder of platforms like ClimateScan.org and leads international ClimateCafés, promoting hands-on innovation and citizen science. He also coordinates research at the building climate adaptation fieldlab in Groningen, testing solutions to mitigate flooding, drought, and heat stress.
